Apple M1 chip
The Apple M1 chip is the first system on a chip (SoC) for Mac. Packed with an astonishing 16 billion transistors, it integrates the CPU, GPU, I/O, and every other significant component and controller onto a single tiny chip. Designed by Apple, M1 brings incredible performance, custom technologies and amazing power efficiency to the Mac.
With an 8-core CPU and up to 8-core GPU, M1 on MacBook Air delivers up to 3.5x faster CPU performance1 and up to 5x faster graphics2 than the previous generation.
Memory
The M1 chip brings superfast unified memory to MacBook Air. This single pool of high-bandwidth, low-latency memory allows apps to share data between the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine efficiently — so everything you do is fast and fluid.
Your MacBook Air comes standard with 8GB of memory and can be expanded to 16GB. The more memory your MacBook Air has, the more apps you can run simultaneously and the better they will perform.
Keyboard Language
macOS lets you choose your preferred language for use throughout the OS, including apps, menu bar, dialog boxes, and for reading and writing text. Select any of the languages supported by macOS during the setup process or at any time using System Preferences.
